GUILDED NEEDLECASE
This Victoriana rich needle case is well worn and well loved as Robyn has been using it for over 10 years now. It has a very practical layout and is very beautiful in it’s old worldliness. This project is perfect for learning foundation ribbon embroidery using three widths of silk ribbon and stitching with a variety of silk threads, couching, beading and cord making. As this was made so long ago some of the products are no longer available such as the braid meandering across the centre of the embroidered panel, the braid framing the panel and the damask outer fabric. Rest assured Robyn will source some beautiful replacements. Colour Streams hand dyed velvet will be used as the outer fabric.

BOHEMIAN BAUBLES
Join Robyn Alexander from Colour Streams and start one of these creative and fun necklaces. During this workshop you will learn to take different embroidery products and use them in a non- traditional manner to create a range of baubles, gypsy like jewels. You will be using both embroidery and beading which should encourage and inspire you to experiment further. These baubles could be used in many situations in your textile work as finishing for bags, jewelry and wall pieces. This will be an informative but relaxed class and you should have enough skills to finish the necklace as homework.

KATHLEEN BOOK DOLL
Kathleen is a little different to Jill’s usual designs. Only her head is soft and sculptured and her clothes represent a book. She stands partly open with her coat as the cover which opens up to reveal her dress. Each panel is made up with layers of 'strong pelmet vilene', chosen fabric for dress or coat and a bonding material to iron them together. Kathleen may be decorated to your individual taste allowing you to create a 'family heirloom'. She stands about 20 ins or 50 cm tall. The ideal project to use your embroidery and beading skills. The pattern is included in the class price.

BALTIMORE QUILT
For beginners passionate about hand stitching or for those who have started a Baltimore quilt and need revision or motivation to complete it. In the Baltimore class beginners will learn a new technique each month including transferring designs, using freezer paper, needle turn and reverse appliqué, cutwork, superfine bias stems, perfect circle berries, ruched roses, three dimensional cloth and ribbon flowers, stuffed and quilted roses, embroidery embellishment and transferring text to your work. You will create a number of blocks towards a quilt. Borders, construction and quilting will be started if you complete your blocks. There will be a significant amount of homework.
For those people who have started a Baltimore quilt, laying out, sashing and developing border designs will be discussed. Towards the end of the year quilting options will be covered.
